Welcome to Kowalski Mountain! We’re Philip and Barbra-Sue Kowalski. We own 68 acres in Western Kentucky where we are building an off-grid homestead. After seven years of waiting, we have finally made our full-time homesteading dream a reality! In the fall of 2023, Philip and I retired from our jobs, moving over 700 miles from our home in Florida to the homestead at Kowalski Mountain.

During those years of waiting, we built the infrastructure of the homestead. We cultivated our homesteading skills on our urban homestead. Gathering the supplies and tools needed to make this lifestyle as comfortable and productive as possible.

While I loved the outdoor lifestyle, I was stuck in my urban life far from my roots and the lifestyle I loved. It's hard to deny that Philip and I were meant for each other. We make a great team! We seem to be able to accomplish more than the average couple in record time. Since our Kentucky dream is built in short workcations, our ability to get things done is a huge asset.
