Quick Weekend Getaway
Due to a year long project at work, I’d reached the point of needed to take time off to avoid Use or Loose PTO. A long weekend at Kowalski Mountain is always a great way to spend a little PTO and get in on the Labor Day weekend opening of archery season. So we took a quick weekend getaway to enjoy the holiday.
We were greeted at our gate with beautiful pumpkins growing along the bank. We planted only a few seeds and hope for the best.
American Pride
Philip and I are both extremely patriotic, I always try to decorate the camp for the holidays. No one else sees the camp, but I enjoy giving the camp a touch of Americana, even if it’s just for us.
Of course, Philip needed to d a little mowing to try and keep up with it.
Weekend Getaway with Family
Joy Murphy, Philip’s mom, came along with us on our weekend getaway. She has her own place, but we typically share our main meals and each other’s company through out our trip. Here, she and I were taking a break at the campfire ring. She felt like the gravel was hurting Roxie, so she pulled up a chair for her to enjoy.
Sitting in the tree stand, waiting for a deer… maybe 2020 will be my year to get my first year. Find out here.
We always bring a trailer of supplies to Kentucky when we travel. Philip used the bobcat to unload this role of conduit.
We picked the pumpkins together!
It was still rather hot for a campfire, but we went ahead and had one. Toasting a few marshmallows is always a treat.
