Greenhouse Update
It’s been about a month since the greenhouse was started, so time for us to share a greenhouse update. The interior bed design is still under construction and additional beds have been added. Since the walls are in place, each bucket full of dirt is hand carried in and dumped.
The planting continues. Both Philip and I work full time jobs, so we fit the garden chores in where we can. The greenhouse is planted with tomatoes, onions and garlic. Green beans, peppers, and a blackberry bush. There are also a few types of grapes planted over the arbor.
There are several plants awaiting to be planted still: zucchini, more green beans, peanuts and potatoes. The progress is slow but we are getting there, bit by bit. There are several types of flowers planted as well to draw in the pollinators.
We’re seeing quite a bit of growth in the plants that were started early. Its amazing the temperature difference in the greenhouse during the day. In the evening it can cool off quite a bit, but during the heat of the day, its difficult to work in there.
The heavy landscape cloth helps prevent weed growth in the aisles of the greenhouse. Minimal weeding is a real perk of the greenhouse. We used concrete blocks for the base of most of our beds. These will easily be relocated when its time to install the green house on Kowalski Mountain.
The experiment continues… we will give a future greenhouse update as we continue. See how we build the greenhouse here.

The green house construction was certainly innovative.
Love the picture of Addison with the duck.
