In our family, food always takes center stage at any family celebration. At Christmas time, I like to bring out the big guns! Still, some of my favorites are classic, simple recipes that remind me of childhood Christmas celebrated with family no longer with us. Not-So-Traditional Black Forest Cake

This cake has been at the center of my holiday Christmas dessert table for a decade! While it certainly takes a bit more time, it’s well worth the investment! Since I’m not a fan of traditional cherry filling, this cake is made with my favorite homemade jams: strawberry, blackberry or raspberry.
